Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Zoe Saldana shares a sneak peek at how Gamora will look in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
Zoe Saldana teased how Gamora will look in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
On Instagram, Saldana shared a video consisting of several pictures, noting that they’d all been taken this summer. The final picture in the set showed Saldana in costume and make-up as Gamora, seemingly while filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
What Do We Know About Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
At the time of writing, little is known about the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, the movie will deal with the fallout of Gamora’s death in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, where she was killed by Thanos in order to obtain the Soul Stone on Vormir. The version of Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will thus be the one from earlier in the timeline that appeared in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. As for just what Gamora will be doing in the upcoming film, it’s been confirmed she’ll be leading the Ravagers. Peter Quill/Star-Lord will, for his part, will be dealing with all the loss he’s faced in his life, which makes his team vulnerable.
The Guardians of the Galaxy made their debut in an eponymous film in 2014. The movie, which was considered a risk at the time, performed well at the box office and made more than $772 million worldwide. The film earned rave reviews and currently sits at 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. A sequel followed in 2017. Titled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, that project holds an 85 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and earned more than $863 million at the worldwide box office.
While the team did make an appearance in this year’s Thor: Love and Thunder, the Guardians of the Galaxy have not had their own solo movie since 2017. Production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was seemingly delayed as a result of the firing, and later re-hiring, of writer and director James Gunn. Prior to their solo film, the team will return in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which is said to be an epilogue for Phase Four of the MCU.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 releases on May 5, 2023.
