Roku reveals a date that fans can watch the official trailer for WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story, along with a new Rocketman-style poster for the film.

The trailer date has been announced for WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story, along with a Rocketman-like poster.

Building hype for the film’s Nov. 4 release date, Roku posted on Twitter that the official trailer will drop on Aug. 29. Along with the caption “The world belongs to the weird,” the account also unveiled an image of Radcliffe as Weird Al with an accordion in a crowded concert. Fans may not know what to expect of the upcoming biopic, but were intrigued by Radcliffe’s gigantic head of hair and colorful clothing. While it’s a tremendous weight to portray a musical presence like Weird Al, Radcliffe is clearly ready for such a commitment.

On Jan. 18, it was revealed that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will portray Weird Al in the upcoming biopic. Radcliffe was recruited for the job after Yankovic saw his performance of Tom Lehrer’s “The Elements” on The Graham Norton Show. Eric Appel, director for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, teamed up with Yankovic to create WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.

“Wearing the Hawaiian shirt is a huge responsibility that I don’t take lightly, and I’m honored to finally share with the world the absolutely 100 percent unassailably true story of Weird Al’s depraved and scandalous life,” Radcliffe said. WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story will follow the musician’s career and how his unconventional lifestyle almost led to his downfall. Yankovic is thrilled to have Radcliffe onboard. “I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for,” Yankovic shared.

In addition to Radcliffe, the cast also includes Thirteen‘s Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna. While her contribution to the film’s plot is unknown, one of Yankovic’s parodies was “Like a Surgeon,” a play on Madonna’s “Like a Virgin.” Yankovic’s song is allegedly the only song idea he borrowed from someone other than himself, after Madonna brainstormed the idea with one of her friends.

Rainn Wilson, known for his role as Dwight Schrute on The Office, also joins Radcliffe and Wood, as Dr. Demento, a radio broadcaster who helps bring Yankovic to the spotlight. WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story has been a long time in the making, considering Funny or Die released its fake trailer in 2010. The highly anticipated biopic will finally see the light of day this fall.

WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story will release on The Roku Channel on Nov. 4.
