Declan Rice to Arsenal is gathering momentum.
There is certainly quite a lot of speculation about the West Ham United midfielder going North of the capital, yes.
According to The Guardian on Saturday, the England international would favour a transfer to Arsenal over Chelsea, if he were to leave West Ham.
The 24-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s best and most consistent midfield players down the years.
Declan Rice to Arsenal in the January transfer window would be a massive coup for the Emirates Stadium outfit – and a major blow for West Ham, who remain in relegation trouble.
Speaking live on BeIN Sport this afternoon, Emmanuel Petit made his feelings completely clear.
He said: “Declan if you’re listening, my message is very simple. If you want to improve – you’re already a great player – and win silverware, you have to come Arsenal!”
The Guardian also added that the prospect of playing under Mikel Arteta is a big draw for the former Chelsea youth.
And honestly, who can blame him?
The Spaniard is doing magical things in North London this season, with Arsenal scoring a last-minute winner tonight to beat Manchester United and restore their five-point cushion at the Premier League summit.
There’s something special going on at the Gunners and with West Ham fighting at the opposite end of the table, well you can understand the players’ priorities, even if he does genuinely love the Irons.
