The Silver Creek Cheerleaders, pictured at a competition in Dunkirk in 2019, will benefit from a chicken barbecue fundraiser held in the Village of Silver Creek on Sept. 1.

SILVER CREEK — Music in the Park will conclude this season of events in Silver Creek on August 23 with Ion Sky performing from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Silver Creek Ball Park. Food vendors will again be on site, as was the case in previous events.

“We’ve been so lucky with perfect weather on Tuesday nights, we’re hoping for one more beautiful Tuesday night in the park,” said village Trustee Marv Cummings.

The 2023 season of Music in the Park has already begun initial planning and setting up a music lineup, according to Trustee Cummings. Silver Creek Mayor Jeff Hornburg said an application will “definitely” be submitted to continue Music in the Park next year.

Regarding other future events in the park, the Silver Creek Cheerleading Booster Club will hold a Chicken Barbecue fundraiser on Thursday, Sept, 1 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The fundraiser will benefit the Silver Creek High School Cheerleaders and was approved by the Village Board on Monday. More details will be available in the coming weeks.
