Dolphins Blanked At Home Against Stevens Tech

Riverdale, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent’s women’s soccer team took a break from conference action on Wednesday when the Stevens Institute of Technology came to Riverdale to battle the Dolphins. Fresh off the heels of a five goal victory over CMSV, the Dolphins weren’t able to extend their win streak, as they lost to the Ducks 3-0.

It was a struggle offensively for a Dolphins team that has dominated in that category in 2023. The Ducks held CMSV to just six total shots, three of which came on goal. Stevens recorded 18 shots on goal, with two of the three coming against junior keeper Brooke Frierson in the first half.

Alicia Rodriguez, Victoria Gamarra each took shots that reached the opposing keeper.

Sophomore Javiera Sanchez came in relief for Frierson in the second half and continued her impressive second campaign with CMSV, as she didn’t let up a score while making multiple saves, including one on a penalty attempt.

It’s back to Skyline action this weekend, with Maritime College making their way to Marillac Field. The Dolphins will look to improve to 6-0-2 against the conference in the afternoon matchup.
